
Roy Allen Larson
1945 - 2005
Roy
Allen Larson, 59, died February 23, 2005 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital
in Crystal City, MO, due to complications from diabetes. Roy was
born June 9, 1945 in Raymond, WA, to Henry and Nettie Larson.
Roy
graduated from South Bend High School in 1963, and attended Northwest
College in Kirkland, WA, earning his A.A. in Education in 1965.
He transferred to Evangel College in Springfield, MO, graduating with
his teaching degree in 1967.
He married Kathy
Lowe from
Hiawatha, KS, on August 18, 1967. They began teaching in
Summersville, MO, and transferred to DeSoto, MO, after two years in
Summersville. He taught 28 years in the sixth grade in the DeSoto
School District, retiring in 1997.
In retirement he worked a
number of jobs, but mostly enjoyed working at his golf game! He
belonged to the Lead Belt Country Club in BonneTerre, MO, and loved
telling his sister how many days he had golfed so far that year.
He
belonged to the First Assembly of God in DeSoto, MO, and served many
terms on the board. He was instrumental in his church’s vision
for missions, and was at church whenever the doors were open. He
was a frequent soloist and loved leading the congregation in singing
the hymns of the church.
Roy is survived by his wife Kathy
Larson of Festus, MO, his daughters Sheri Larson of Kenosha, WI, and
Dione Larson of Festus, MO, and his sister Karen Coulson of Olympia,
WA.
