and I are so pleased to be able to have a part in bringing together
Northwest College classmates from the '60s. Every summer since
2003 we have helped to facilitate a reunion/retreat for alumni of the
'60s in Sedro-Woolley, Washington. Last July we had 112
alumni, family, and friends,
come
together at Vandenburg Campground in Sedro-Woolley for a fabulous
outdoor weekend. God has uniquely blessed this annual event and
made it far more than just a fun time to reconnect with old friends,
and reminisce about experiences of the past. In this tranquil northwest
Washington woodland campground, we have reconnected on a spiritual
level that has inspired, refreshed, and bonded us together in Christian
love. The Lord's blessing has motivated us to continue these
events on for another year. The 2012 Reunion/Retreat at Sedro-Woolley
is scheduled for July 27-29, 2012. We hope that you will begin making plans to attend the 2012 reunion.Beyond the annual retreats, we have developed a growing network of '60s alums online. Beside this website, nc60salumni.com,
there is also a growing number of Northwest College/University alumni
who are connecting on facebook. If you are a facebook member, we
hope that you will join our 60s alumni group called, "Northwest University 1960s Alumni & Friends". You are able to post your own comments and photos there.
We have two devotional features on our alumni home page. For some time Ray Sparre has been submitting a daily devotional that we've called "Sparre's Word For The Day". A link for this stimulating devotional is on the home page. Today, January 6, 2012, Dale Lidstrom submitted the first of a series of web broadcasts called "Evening Blessing". This 30 minute audio program is designed to foster a quiet time of reflection and worship with a mix of music, Scripture and the spoken word produced and narrated by Dale Lidstrom. Dale hopes to have a new program added each week. We hope you will find a time to experience Evening Blessing.
Periodically through the year, we send out a group email to everyone in our network database with news updates and information about members of our decade of alumni. If you attended Northwest College anytime during the decade of the 1960s, and are not receiving our communications, please send me an email with your contact information so that you may be included.
